Ji-Won received her B.S. (2016), M.S. (2017), and Ph. D. (2022) degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). While at KAIST, she conducted research in developing stimuli-responsive microcapsules with a glass capillary microfluidic device, under the supervision of Prof. Shin-Hyun Kim. The dissertation title was “Designing Microcapsules with Polymer-Phase Change Material Composite Shells for Controlled Release”. Moreover, she has research experience at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (UMass Amherst) in the group of Prof. Ryan Hayward as a visiting scholar (2019), working on shape-morphing hydrogels with gold nanoparticles. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in the group of Dr. Zak Page. Her research focuses on developing bio-inspired interpenetrating polymer networks via dual-light 3D printing.
