Franz graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Politics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University in 2024. While in Winston-Salem, he received the Chemistry Departmental Certificate of Excellence Award and conducted his undergraduate research as a URECA Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Paul B. Jones. In the Jones Lab, he studied photochemical reverse click reactions and their applications to bioorthogonal chemistry and drug delivery. Franz is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at UT Austin under the advisory of Dr. Zak Page with an interest in synthesizing novel stimuli-responsive materials.
